I am new to this genealogy thing, and wow, it's addictive. I've gotten information on my father's father, Vincent DePaul Goode, but all the information I have is by word of mouth. I'm looking for hard copy evidence that he existed. Supposedly, he was born in Casey county around or in 1882 and he died in Jefferson County, Kentucky in 1939. Also, I have been unable to find birth information on his father, George Alfred Goode. I also have no proof that George was his father, except by my aunt's recollection. I don't know that I am looking in the right place, but at our Library in Louisville, the archives that I've researched are microfilm, and very hard to read.
