Before that time there were the long hunters, but I don't know if they were as early as 1760. I'm thinking early 1770s. The earliest Kentucky records would be found in Fincastle County, VA, which was created in 1772. It included all of Kentucky and parts of Virginia and West Virginia. Few records survive from this era. In 1776 Kentucky County was created and in 1780 it was split into Jefferson, Fayette and Lincoln.
