I wonder if any of you can help me solve a mystery about my g-g-grandmother. MAHALA FRANCIS EDWARDS was born in 1852. She married my g-g-grandfather, JOHN MURPHY, on Oct. 13, 1870 in Casey County. She died on 11/28/1904 in Casey County. I have not been able to determine who her parents were. She is in the 1860 Casey County census, living in the Bennett Peyton household. She is not listed anywhere in the 1870 census; John Murphy is still listed with his family that year, and he and Mahala married later in the year. She is in the later censuses with John's household. Does anyone have a clue as to who Mahala's parents were? I've tried to find birth information and marriage bond information, but have not been successful.
