On 8 Feb. 1841 there was an order of the County Court of Casey to bind out Lewallen Sandifer, an infant, 5 years of age the 27 day of May 1841 unto John Clements until Lewallen shall arrive at the full age of 21 and teach him the art of a farmer and give him schooling to include reading, writing and arithmetic.
