Annette Smiley posted that Evan Thomas of Casey County was her gggrandfather. My grandfather said he was an orphan and said he was reared by Evan Thomas but in 25 years of research I have not found any evidence of either, although both may be true. Negatives are difficult, if not impossible, to prove so it may never be proven that he did not live with Evan Thomas. His name was Charles but may have been called Thomas with a last name of Worley, Sandifer or Ross and was born 24 June 1849, near Liberty.
