    3. Hi Pat! I'm very interested. If my info is correct, Abner was probably my GGGGrandfather. If John was their son (who married Malinda), their daughter Mary was my Grandmother (married GGrandfather Thomas J. Farmer). My Dad tells me he was told that she died young of breast cancer. She is not listed with her husband and 4 sons in the 1897 school census so I assume she had died by then. So, if all above is true, I'm very interested and appreciate the offer. Thank you so much! Abner T. Belton owned land on Gum Lick Road, (the old barn is still standing). The old Belton school house is just across the road and up a bit on Gum Lick. If you continue south about 1/2 mile you will see the cemetery. It was the Belton cemetery and now called the Gum Lick Cemetery. It is located directly behind the Gum Lick Christian church. This land was all in the Belton Family at one time. I can see the church and cemetery from my kitchen window and have often heard of the Beltons. Would love to have you all hear the narrations about the Beltons from a lady at church. She knew them, and their children all growing up together. If you are interested, I can call her on the phone and have her dictate some of the Belton descriptive stories. In turn I could type it up and put this on the net for you. Let me know if there is interest. Kind Regards, Pat Brooks
