10 YEARS AGO TODAY Week of July 27,1988 Rick Buck displayed a $50 check and two trophies he won in the Demolition Derby at the Boyle County Fair. The Casey Marchants won the Men's Class A District 18 Softball Tournament in Campbellsville. They were coached by Homer Spears and Paul Price. The Casey Merchants girl's teams won the Women's Class A District 18 Softball Tournament at Campbellsville. They were coached by Randy Wethington and Clarence Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Patton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 22. Creech and Garnett Sweeny were given 15- year service awards for serving as unpaid medical advisors for the Selective Service System. Florence Vaught of the Crossroads Store near Bethleridge was awarded a certificate of merit by the Ky-Cream Improvement Association in cooperation with the Dairy Section, University of Kentucky.
