Hello Linda, I have information on the Ellis Branch you are seeking. My Great grandmother was Melvina Ellis. I am descended from the Bones and the Bone line have been traced back to almost 954ad. Mary Bone b. 1836 Tenn. married William Ellis ILL 1856 had 7children In the book there is a footnote on page 90 that says; Much of the material on William Carroll Sr.'s family gathered by Mrs. William (Dorothy Modella Hayes) Ellis of Kevil Kentucky. She is daughter of Bertha Hayes and Elliot J. Hayes. Bertha was daughter of Wm. D. and Minnie Cole Bone.
