    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lAB.2ACE/972.179.1 Message Board Post: Hi Nanci, Yep..I'm still out here! I have quite a bit of information on this Camden line. It's my biggest frustration and brick wall! From all of the research that I've done I believe that George was probably the son of Jacob's half brother, Pleasant Camden. Pleasant died before 1850 and I don't have a date of death for his wife Elizabeth Haggard. Jacob is on the Lincoln County Tax List from 1948 to 1861 then he totally disappears. I guess he died but don't know where, when or how. He married Minerva Minton in 1853. On the 1860 census it shows a "G" age 13 living in the household. That would be the right age for it to be Pleasant's son. My mother remember's "Uncle Geoge" from when she was a child but unfortunately can shed no light on this situation. If George was the son of Pleasant and Elizabeth the information on them is: Pleasant Camden b. abt. 1817 d. before Nov. 1850. He married Elizabeth Haggard on 4 March 1839. They had three children Robert b. abt. 1846, George b. abt 18! 47 and Pleasant b. 16 Aug. 1849. George's gr.parents were William Camden b. abt. 1784 and Sally Salyer. William was also married to Polly Gibson, Jake's mother. William Camden (married to Sally Salyer and Polly Gibson)'s parents were William Camden married to Elizabeth Fitch. This is the brick wall William. He married Elizabeth Fitch in Fredricksville Parish, Albemarle Co., VA on 5 Dec. 1782. He died in Garrard (formerly Lincoln Co.), KY on 5 Dec. 1805. He was murdered by a robber. To add to the confusion there is another William Camden who died the same year but it is not the same line. I do have all of the tax and census records, the marriage bond for Jake and Minerva and the court records from the trial of the man that murdered William Camden. We cannot find the father of this William Camden and there has been extensive research done. I hope I've helped you and not just totally confused you! I've done research in Lincoln and Casey Co. KY, as well as in Albemarle, Nel! son and Amherst VA. I've also worked with another researcher that has hunted for info on William Camden d. 1805 for 25 years. I suspect that the records that we need were burned. I have a lot of Camden information and a lot of Williams but nothing fits. All of the Williams are accounted for.
