Jenny, Gads, it has been a long time. We go back to visit one remaining brother in Rantoul. I was formerly a Phillips. I live in Beaufort,SC now (since 1996). I married a guy in the Air Force in 1967. We left Rantoul in 1972 to IND, then to NC, then to Guam, then to Omaha, NE---and now here. He is native of this place. My dad was in military at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul. He retired there in 1949. Our son and his wife live in Omaha--and our daughter and her hubby live in Shreveport. LA. We have one grandson in his first year at Louisiana State Uni. at Baton Rouge. I had a home ec teacher by the name of Lillian Rayburn. She never married. I could never figure out why. My brothers had her for English, etc, when they were in school. Note that my oldest borther was 21 years older than me. I am the youngest of 7 boys. My brothers always talked about how beautiful she was in her younger days. I thought she was an attractive lady when I was in high school. She must have been about 60 at the time. Lilly did love to smoke cigars. Several of the gals caught her in girl's locker room smoking one Sat. We had a practice for archery competition (of all things). Apparently, Lilly had no idea anyone would be around. We certainly tried to use that against her, but she was one tough lady. Shari
