Hi Clementsville received its name from Philip Clements,a grandson of Henry Clements,{one of the original familys to come to that area in 1802}when the postoffice was established there inthe1890`s.Albert Clements, son of Phillip, was the first postmaster. The site of the first postoffice was about one half mile north of the present town, where Edgar Montgomery resides. At the turn of the century, a store was erected nearer the church, and as business gradually developed around it, forming a new Clementsville, the postoffice was removed to this location.
