    2. My grandmother had a glass butter churn. I use to beg to turn the handle. It looked like fun. Foolish me! I gave up after about 7 turns, The lady across the road had a wooden churn. She use to set on her porch and churn. And yes! I remember shelling peas. That looked like fun too until I had to do it. I can remember getting as far from the back yard as possible when my grandmother made lye soap. My brothers and I never came home for lunch. We had tomato's in the garden and apples in the orchard to fill our bellies and a creek out back to wash the juice off. Aw! Sweet memories. Barbara
