These two articles were taken from a book "Todd County Ky Family Histories". Biographical Souvenir of the State of Texas, page 558: "Samuel Coleman of Todd Co., Ky, a gentleman who bore the distinction of having served seven years in the Colonies War for Independance and after that struggle of having settled in Kentucky and becoming a pioneer; his death took place in the county of his adoption at an early age." Certified Copy of Family Court records in F. C. D. A. Library: "Samuel Coleman was born in Albemarle County, Virginia in 1752. He entered service from Albemarle Co., Va and maintained Albemarle Co as his resodence all the time he was in the Revolutionary War. He was a little over twenty years of age and served for seven years in the Virginia Continental Line, being discharged in 1783." Question: F. C. D. A. Library - Is this the DAR library in Washington, D. C.?? Would appreciate it if someone would really explain that statement about family court records. Also, I don't think Samuel was born in 1752. I think he was born a few years later. Judith was the first child born to James and Elizabeth. James "Jerry" Coleman. Where did the Jerry come from?? Sure would appreciate comments, negative or otherwise. Earl --- Earl Coleman --- earlcoleman@earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.
