It was a land survey to establish the boundry of a tract of land with its metes and bounds. Hazel wrote: > > Ellwyn, please tell us about that survey. Exactly what it in/on it? > Thanks. Hazel Ellwyn
Hi Judith, To answer your question, "How do you get a topography map"? I pick them up at Rolla, Missouri and save postage. But you could call 1-800-USA MAPS, if you prefer; their catalogues are free and they will tell you what you need to know. The maps that are 1:24000 cover about 7 miles by 9 miles. Maps are available for all 48 States. Judith Fisk wrote: > > Ellwyn, How do you get a topography map? > Thanks, Judy -- Ellwyn L Worley
Ellwyn, please tell us about that survey. Exactly what it in/on it? Thanks. Hazel

Now, please everybody, if I am reading my map wrong, do let me know. That is the stomping grounds of mine. Hazel
There was a survey made in Casey County, on 7 Oct 1822, which shows, "on the waters of Fishing Creek". The USGS Topographic map does not show Fishing Creek. Will someone, please, tell me where it is located. Ellwyn L Worley ELWorley@Worldnet.att.net

I think you will find Mt. Olive near olive hill Ky. It`s just off I -64 between Lexington and Huntington W. Va. I think it must be aroud there, so look up the Co., and go to the page, maybe someone can tell you about it on the query page. I hope it works for you.
Hi, If your Fred Durham went to Mt. Olive Church, he was probably from Calvery Ridge. There is a road that goes from Mt. Olive(at the edge of Casey up the hill from Fishing Creek and prob.west of Wall Town) down a ridge to Yosemite.& Middleburg..probably 3-5 miles long and everyone is either a Durham or related to Durhams. My Mother's Mother was Rutha Durham b. 1896 dau. of Wm. Walker Durham b. 1860 d. 1946. Rutha m. Jasper Rayborn. All in Casey Co. Rutha had bros. Wm. Logan, Richard, James,McKinley, and sisters Burilla, Lou Godbey (adopted?), America "Merkie", Sarah Bell, Judie. I don't have many of their children's names. William Walker was only son of William Johnson Durham b. 1836 d.1861 His father was John Durham 1796-1873...had 10ch. with Nancy Lucas and 5 with Peggy Hopper, so a good possibility that Your's are related to him. ----------My other Casey names are Anderson, Black, Butt, Coleman, Humphrey, (Mt. Olive org. named Humphrey) , Morgan, Stansberry. What is the name of the ones you are wanting to find in Cem.? Good Luck with your search. Jenny Oldham jloldham@vvm.com j
OH One more thing I forgot to tell you my Grandmother Bertha Heady Durham her sister Lula Heady married a Lucas too. But I don't know his name or where they married. She passed away along while ago to. They are all almost gone so thats why I am having a hard time finding any one to talk to. A Big Thanks Linda
Thank you so much for that information. you are probably right I'm still waiting on some more info from up north and the Uncle that I was talking with his wife is in pretty bad shape right now so I don't want to bother him. So the names in the Cemetary I don't know yet. But Grandpa Fred had seven children Melvin ,Carl , Raymond,Betty,Lillian,Harold & William and Grandpa had only one sister that I know of and that was Gladys. Carl,Raymond,William & Lillian have been gone along while. In my mothers vistor & relative section there was a Floyd Truax & family but I'm not sure who they are and from what I understand a Heady married a stillwell and then a Heady married a Truax. So.....who knows where this is going to go. But if what you are guessing maybe John Durham is my Great Grandfather its the right time frame. I could find Mount Olive on the map so I was beginning to wonder if a place ever existed. I enlarged a map and have been covering every inch to find it. Again Thank you so much. Linda
The Joiners I married into was from Alabama. My father in law was Marion Joiner and that was his father's name too. His wife was Doris Aldrige her family is from Alabama too. the town was Gadsden, Rainbow city and couple more places and I was told the Joiners are all over as well. There was Jimmie Joiner David Joiner Stansel Joiner Rita Joiner Vicki Joiner, the names I just mentioned are the children of Marion and Doris Joiner. I have no idea where any of them are. I am going to search for them as well but right now all I have looking for is my parents family which has been a job. I haven't even started looking for my real dad's family yet. His name is Jim McIntire. My Stepfather is LLoyd Thomas from the same area of Kentucky. So as you can see I have a big hunt ahead of me so any help anywhere will bee appreciated. Thank You Linda Joiner
Hello I am Linda Joiner and have been trying to find some of my relatives. This is what I know for a fact and you can let me know if there is a connection: My Grandmother was Bertha L. Heady Durham she was born in Kentucky somewhere and the other names I have I'm not sure if they were brothers, sisters, cousins, etc but the other names I have are as follows Charles Heady (brother), Anna Heady Baltzell, Clara Heady Herr,Wilma Sue Heady Lambirth, Tom Heady(brother), Lula Lucas Miller(sister) & George & Nellie Miller(sister). My Grandmother married a man Fred Durham also born in Kentucky. He was a member of the Mount Olive Church in Kentucky and worked for the Ohio & Baltimore Railroad he died at the age of 52 and my grandmother died in the 80's both in Indiana. From what I understand I have relatives all over from Indaina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida just all over. My E-mail lkj200@aol.com
Hello, saw your query, and I may be able to help some. I live in Butler Co. Ky. ,and I do know some Joiners. If you can tell me what county your family was from, will try to look them up. I don`t know if your family is of the same line as the ones in Butler Co., but I could check. BOB
Hello My name is Linda Joiner and my Family tree is loaded with Durhams. My Grandfather Fred Durham born somewhere in Kentucky was a member of the Mount Olive Church, Mount Olive, Kentucky he was a native of Middleburg Kentucky not sure of his birth but he died at 52 in Indianapolis he lived there for 35 years so that means he was about seventeen when he went to Indiana. He married Bertha L. Heady Durham she was born in 1902 January 18th some where in Kentucky as well and died april 3rd 1982 in Indiana. He had one sister that I know of Gladys Wright she married an Earl Wright. From the marriage of Fred and Bertha there were six children Melvin, Carl, Harold, Raymond, Betty & Lillian as far as I know most of them born in Indiana. Carl & Lillian & Raymond have past away and the rest I have tried to contact some of them but no one really responds and the one Uncle I talk to don't remember to much. But what I do know is that the Durhams we are related to are in Kentucky very wide spread. Before my Uncle Ray died he went to Kentucky and talked to alot of our relatives. Would really like to find out about my family. My Mother died as a result of a rare blood disorder and would like to find out how that is past on in the family. I would hope you could give me some direction to go or pass this on to others you run into. I was also told that there is a road named Durham but my Aunt couldn't recall where it might be and also a Durham Cemetary. She said that where ever they were that was where our family was from. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you My E-Mail address is LKJ200@aol.com Thank You Linda Joiner

> Since we are on the subject of Taylors I thought I would ask about mine again.... Peter Herrington married Dicey Taylor (her real name was probably Sarah) in Washington Co. KY in 1821. On the marraige cert. she is listed as the daughter of John Taylor of Washington Co. By 1825 they are living in Casey Co. and so is John Taylor. John is listed in the tax records in the 1820's as well as a George and a Jeremiah Taylor. Peter and Dicey(Taylor) Herrington moved to Hardin Co. in 1830 but there are so many John Taylors that I have lost track of him. Does any one know which Taylor family this Sarah Dicey and John belong to? Any information would be appreciated.Tracy
Bryan, Thank you for providing so very many Joshua Taylor marriages, etc. I have printed it all out and need to peruse it. However, just scanning through it, I don't see my own Joshua who married Sarah Kelsey. They remain extremely elusive. We are sure about the name of Sarah Kelsey because of family Bible records, etc. The Joshua who provided so many surety bonds in TN could have been mine, however. He had a son named Henry, so perhaps he also had a brother with that name. Jackie Taylor Zortman
