    3. Hello: May I suggest that you stop in at the library early one day and pick up a copy of a map of the county. Most every cemetery is located on the county map. You would be traveling from one end of the county to another and over rural roads, it will take you sometime. Planning with a map might save you miles of back-tracking. See you at the library on the 15th, Gladys Thomas, Noreen Gentry and I plan to work on the Bible Records book that day. Will be happy to see your pictures and information for the library! Kind Regards, Pat Brooks

    3. Sherry, I'd recommend stopping at the Library in Liberty first. They have maps and local information. They have an entire geneology corridor. Most items cant be checked out. If that doesn't work then, find a funeral home and ask them and/or the sheriff's department. For your old pictures, copy them first. I'd recommend the color copiers at Kinko's. They do a FANTASTIC job! Originals can be wrapped up and preserved, and the copies viewed. It costs a little more for the color (even for B&W) but it is definatly worth it! Hi Everyone! We are to be in Casey Co. about Sept 15th or 16th , that is, IF we can still get to Kentucky (we're holding Northwest Airline tickets). I plan to visit the Casey Co. Library in Liberty for a day of research and to donate some genealogical information and copies of old pictures for their family files. While in the county, I also hope to visit some old cemeteries and places connected with my ancestors to take pictures, but I need some help. Can anyone who lives in Casey Co. give me directions to any of the following? Reynierson Graveyard- All I have is that it is located on the Mack Allen Farm. What town is this close to? How far is this cemetery from Liberty and what roads would we take to get there? Rocky Ford Road- I have no clue where this road is located. McAnnely Burying Ground- Information that I have on this cemetery is that it is very hard to find- located on the John Wilcher farm, located 1 mi. east of Jacktown on the Bradfordville and Houstonville Rd. Any suggestions about the best way to get to this cemetery? About how long would it take to get there from Liberty? Elder Burying Ground- What I have is that it is on a hill overlooking Boyle and Marion counties. How do we get there? Penn's Store- Where exactly is this located? How do we get there? Powers Store- One of my ancestors lived here in 1870. Where was/is it located? Any help or suggestions anyone can provide will be so very appreciated. 2. I can tell you that the public library at Liberty , Casey Co. , has a cemetery book with just about every cemetery in it, from which you can copy the information. The Lady who runs the geneology section is also very helpful, and can probably send you in the direction you need to go to find the other information you need. Good luck, BOB

    1. [KYCASEY-L] Query System
    2. Bill Wethington
    3. The entire GenConnect system will be upgraded starting at midnight on Saturday September 5, 1998. This will require that we shut the system down. The reason is twofold ..... it's not just a patch .... it's a re-write of the program that runs the system. Also, the Global Search engine has been revamped and mega-enhanced, which will require a total rebuild. No new postings can be allowed during this rebuilding period. Downtime is estimated to be 8 hours max (yep .... it's a huge system now!). Anyone attempting to use the system during this downtime will be given notice that it's being upgraded .... no-one will be left in the dark. Below are some of the new features that the latest version (1.10) will contain. This is the most exciting version of genbbs yet, and we're thrilled to be bringing it into production. Once again ..... the upgrade will begin at midnight on Saturday, Sep 5, and should take no more than 8 hours. There will be no official notice once the conversion is completed. The new version will be in effect for all to see, and will serve as notice. List of new GenConnect Features: Visitor Toys: ------------------- Separate entry fields for subject and surnames ..... allows more descriptive subjects (non-surname words won't matter) Main page of each board displays the list of surnames for each query, in addition to the subject .... allows for more surnames to be entered 'Print' option now expanded to include the entire thread (user's option) Surname page will be auto-generated, and auto-updated weekly (more frequently with admin intervention), and will now be alphabetized and hotlinked to the query in which it appears. Cookie support expanded to include "date ranges". Faster, sleeker search engine. Multiple-word surnames supported - including the capability of searching for them. New search options added to the Global Search ..... soundex (enhanced over previous version), partial word match, whole word match, wildcard searching. Bill
