I live high in the San Juan mountains in Ouray, Colorado, so I'm not close to a library that has look-up facilities. However, a lady named Hazel was kind enough to check the 1870 census for me. I have all of the Casey census reports, except the 1870 and thought it might be available for purchase. Thanks! Jackie Taylor Zortman

In Michigan, all the U.S. census data, East of the Mississippi, are available at the Michigan State Libary & Museum in downtown Lansing. This is a "State" facility. It is NOT part of Michigan State University. After I "hang up", will do a detailed look. The only name that you mentioned is Thomas Tayler (sic) 30, wife Elezabeth 29 and four children. I'll be back with what I can find, if anything. As for the book, I bought it from Patty Black, 8390 Middleburg Rd, Hustonville, KY 40437-9601. Have not been able to reach her for several years; so, do not know what luck you will have. She also did most of the other Casey censuses. Hazel
Does anyone have a copy of the 1870 census of Casey County, KY? If so, where can I get one? Would you mind looking to see what shows under the name of Joshua Taylor and wife, Sarah? These are my ggg-grandparents and I'm told they were in Casey by 1870. They might be in the home of Lewis, Alexander, Thomas, William C. or Henry Clay Taylor, since Joshua would have been 70 years old by that year. This has been a major dead end (backwards) for me and my cousins. Anything at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Jackie Taylor Zortman

Vicky, Just looked and didn't see any Spradlin names, though lots of Browns. You might try Wayne County, KY. There were a bunch of Spradlins there. Hi! I thought I would let y'all know that I have a lot of Kentucky families represented in my database at my web site for the Denton and related families. There are over 15,000 people in the database, plus a lot of other information on the site. If any of you have Dentons in your lines, I would love to hear from you! There are also some down-loadable gedcom files for families other than Denton that I have in my at-home database, such as Hunt, Moore, Plumlee, Cooper, Chastain, O'Dell, French, Shipman, Baker and Huff. All of these families intersect in some way with the Dentons, but have a great deal more information in the individual gedcoms than is on the database at the site. There is a lot of other information on the site as well that you might find interesting, as well. The address is: http://www.acun.com/dentons I hope you find something of value! Blessings!
