Sorry Russ! That zip code for Archives is 40602-0537. Christy
Russ: Birth certificates from 1911 on can be obtained from the Ky. Office of Vital Statistics for $9.00 each. The address is: Vital Statistics; 275 E. Main St., Frankfort, KY 40621. Birth certificates BEFORE 1911 can sometimes be obtained from the Archives Dept., but you have to submit the request on a particular form, which you can get by calling them at (502) 564-8300. When they send you the form, you send it in along with $12.00 if you do not live in Kentucky. If you DO live in Kentucky, they will bill you after they've done the search. If they don't have the document, they return the $, at least they did when they couldn't find what I requested recently. The address of the Archives Dept. is: Archives Research Room; Kentucky Dept. for Libraries and Archives; P.O. Box 537, Frankfort, KY 4062-0537. Good luck! Christy

Do you know the relationship of the Rolan/Roland BURKS and Sally BURKS that you are researching? I am also researching a Roland Harrison BURKS, but he was not born until 1/10/1813. I am trying to connect him to the BURKS in Casey County, but nothing yet. I was in Casey Co. last month. In Casey County Marriage Bonds, 1808-1850, it says that Sally BURKS married Joshua SIMPSON on 12/9/1824. Also listed was a Polly BURKS who married George HILL on 11/20/1823. >From Casey County, KY 1806 Settlement and Early Development, compiled and edited by Gladys Cotham Thomas, 1983: A Roland BURKS appears on the 1814 Tax List of Casey Co. The household included, Whites over 21 - 1 Blacks over 16 - 2 Total Blacks - 7 Horses, mares, mules - 9 Total value - $2,464 >From the same book, the 1808 Tax List of Casey County includes Levi BURKES, Allen BURKS, Willie BURKES, and Willis BURKS. Also from the same book, I photocopied the 1807 Original Land Deeds and Tax Records (Commissioner's Book by James Allen, Casey, KY., South of Green River): Listed are Willis BURKS, Roland BURKS, George BURKE, and Levi BURKE. I have more Casey Co. BURKS info that I will try to post in more detail very soon. __________________________________ Sarah L.
