Reba, My Isabel E. Brinton was born July 15 1793 in Casey co.KY. She married George K. Minor in 1816 in Mercer. Most of my ancestors came from the Casey/Mercer county area, and a great many of them packed up and went to first Howard county, then onto Boone. I don't have Isabel's family. After George's death, she married James Phillips, the Phillips family also being from Casey Ky. James was first married to George Minor's sister, Mary. Gets kind of turend around quite a bit, it can make you dizzy. Almost certainly, we share the Brinton line, although at this point, I don't know how. Hoping to hear from you, maybe we can compare data? The picture I was interested in seeing was listed as a Liberty H.S. Graduation. It had a couple of Sweeney's in it. Where would the picture be, that it would be mentioned here. Is there a publication these things go into??? I have some old pictures of the Sweeneys of the line of Moses through John. Thanks for your responses.
Looking for a connection with my BRINTON family to the KY Brintons. WILLIAM BRINTON was born abt 1814 in Kentucky and died 1892. He married Winnie (last name unknown) 1833-1834 in Stewart County, Tennessee. All of their children were born in Tennessee, but my notes indicate the family came to Kentucky from Virginia, but the names of his parents is unknown. Children of William and Winnie: A. Jackson Brinton, b 1835; Malinda Brinton, b 1836; Elizabeth Brinton, b 1838; Elijah Brinton, b 1840; Winfield Brinton, b 1844; Arabella Brinton, b 1846; Pardue Brinton, b 1849. There was a James Brinton, son of Bryant who lived in Casey County for many years and had several children. Could William have been a son? Are there any Brinton researchers who can tie my Tennessee family to the Kentucky Brintons? Thanks. Reba Harris
Hello again, my eyes are watering, I have just been reviewing the early VA. geneologies of Peyton, and copied 14 pages of them. I was trying to find the earliest Peytons in this country , and it is involved. A lot is written about Valentine Peyton, and his family , as well as Henry and otherrs. I have a lot to sort out , but will be glad to exchange information with you , as I develope it. I have other early information as well , but must rest my eyes. Have you any idea of the tie to Henry, born 1590 , died May 6 , 1656 in London England ? He was married to Katherine , and children named are Mary , and sons Robert , Henry , Valentine , Lawrence , John , Sandis , Charles . I have seen the name Valentine , I have him born July 31 , 1627 died 1665 , and married to Frances ( Gerrard ) Speke . It calls him Col Valentine, and he was also a clerk, and officer of the court in Va. I am not sure of what all I have here, but there is a wealth of information so let me know what you think. I have just listed a small portion of the file here. I really have not been working on the Peytons, but am responding to your help to me. Keep in touch, Bob
Christen, I can send it to you at your email address. There are two photos one of Cenia Peyton Cochran w/ Ova Collins and one of Amelia Cochran Phelps. Hello Jessie, Looks like we have a tie, I had not gone farther back than Daniel H Peyton , November 14 , 1866 , so you have given me some good information. I would like to fill in the blanks on the siblings of Daniel , and his parents , and step siblings and parents. Whay I have on the children of Daniel is as follows , all born in Casey Co. Bennett B. born 1867 , married Sarah Atwood first , 8 / 22 / 1890 and died 8 / 13 / 1932 in Casey . He marrried second Margaret H. King , and next Mollt Hines. Seany born 1870 , married Joseph L. Johnson 11 / 1 / 1891 . Mary L. born 1872 , married Walker Woods 12 / 23 / 1887 Sarah J. born 1874 , married James Pendelton 3 / 20 / 1889 Robert L. born 1876 , married Sarah L. Shoopman 4 / 26 / 1894 Christopher C. born 3 / 7 / 1880 married R.E. ( Emma ) Vanoy 10 / 22 / 1902 , and died 1965 in Lexington Ky. Samuel born 5 / 10 / 1880 married first Cora Lee Barton, second Ivy Mae Priscilla Brown3 / 8 / 1912 , and died 5 / 12 / 1978 in Bloomington In. He is my G Uncle , Ivy is my Grandmothers Sister . Asa ( Ace ) born 11 / 25 / 1882 , married Cordelia Francis Lowe 10 / 14 / 1906 , and died 1 / 10 / 1972 in Mitchell In. and is buried there as well. Perhaps you can fill in the blanks on your Peyton tie , and I will help with the later Peytons if you like. Strange that the early Peytons came from Indiana , and their children born in Ky. and they went back to IN. Usually it is the other way around. I want to thank you for your help here , and I will work with you to fill in these blanks. I am in contact with a G Daughter of Asa , and she will be glad to see a new Cousin. I was born in Bloomington In. and now live in Butler Co. Ky. strange how things work out. Bob
Sorry I did not keep a copy of all the Peyton information that has passed my screen in the past few days, now it appears I need some information on two Peytons. This is for alady from Ohio, who is researching her line. Re: James Peyton who died June 26, 1817 and Elizabeth Cox Peyton. She would appreciate any information on the birth dates, location of birth, the parents of each and the children of James and Elizabeth. Hope someone can pitch in and help this lady. I'll pass the information on to her. Kind Regards, Pat Brooks

Hi All! When I see a photo mentioned, is there somewhere I can go to view it??? Thank You, C. Rosamilia
Hello Bob This is what i have on the Peytons that i have found. Bennett Peyton born 1808 died 1910 in casey county kentucky. He married first Eleanor Sill in 1834 in Floyd county indiana. they had Cerena Peyton and she married Brice Cochran in casey county, kentucky. Bennett married second Jane McGlothin in 1839 in casey county kentucky. Their children were Asa, Daniel b 1847 (this is your line i believe), Christpher born 1849 and Vincent born 1864. Daniel born 1847 married Sarah Taylor 1866 and they had Bennett B 1868, Seanpy/cerena 1870, Mary L, born 1872, Sarah J. 1874, Robert 1876 Chirstopher 1880. I did not have Samuel but I have not been looking for the peytons as i have for the atwood and cochran families. So I think your Daniel was a half brother to my Cerena Peyton who married Brice Cochran. Does any of that sound familiar to you. Jessie
