    3. In Casey Co., KY, 19 May 1846, Benjamin B Lawhorn, admr of Benjamin B Lawhorn's estate, was appointed guardian ad litem for infant defendants Benjamin Sandifer, Polly Ann Sandifer, Sally Jane Sandifer and others. Benjamin Sandifer was therefore born after 1825. The Benjamin Sandifer who married Sarah Sandifer in 1848 is shown in the 1850 census age 31 and would have been born in 1818 or 1919. Who is this Benjamin Sandifer? He isn't the Benjamin named in the Lawhorn will. Ellwyn Worley Jackie Couture wrote: > > Ellwyn, > > Benjamin Sandifer is in Lincoln County on the 1850 census. 3. Ellwyn, Benjamin Sandifer is in Lincoln County on the 1850 census. He is 31 years old and his wife Sarah is 26. She was Sarah Sandifer, daughter of James Sandifer and they married in Lincoln in 1848. These Benjamin Sandifer records are also in Lincoln County. 9 Oct 1852 John H. Sandifer married Sarah J. Terry, with Benjamin Sandifer as surety. Consent of Catharine Terry for her daughter. 24 Sep 1858 James Terry married Lavina Lawhorne, with Benjamin Sandifer as surety. Consent of Mariah Brown for her daughter. Lavinia Lawhorne is the youngest daughter of Benj. Lawhorn, SR. Sarah J. Terry is the sister of James Terry. Two other Terry brothers also married Lawhorns. I have not been able to find the Sandifer daughters. I do not know who John H. Sandifer is, but those names might help make some other Sandifer connections. > >Benjamin Bennett Lawhorn, Sr, born Abt. 1770, died 1845-1846, Casey Co., >KY, married Sally Thomas, 23 Mar 1802. > >One of their daughters probably married a Sandifer because Benjamin >Sandifer, Polly Ann Sandifer and Sally Jane Sandifer were minors when >Benjamin, Sr. died. 2. Is this the same as the State Guards? If you know let me know and I will quote a paragraph from my great grandfather's pension application. He joined the State Guards (he was in that organization from April to October 1865) and joined in Casey County near Rocky Ford. I also have been searching for information. Thanks and I hope we can help each other. Pat McEntee

    3. --WebTV-Mail-866378643-575 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit You may obtain forms to get records of people who served in any war prior to WW 1, I believe by requesting on line for form #80. Give them your house address and how many forms you need. I have been waiting about 10 days now. In the past I got military records and the most important of all Application for pensions, either by the soldier himself or his widow or dependant parent. PENSION APPLICATIONS HAVE THE MOST INFO IN THEM. Cost is 10.00. Too bad somebody else doesn't have them already and would be willing to make you some copies. You will need to know the date of birth, approx and when/where the veteran died, usually who he married. Names are so similar in some cases. If you are anywhere near Ft. Wayne Indiana they have these records on micorofilm in a drawer which are alphabetical and you put them on a reader and when you find your ancestor , hit a button and make copies.(SURE IS A LOT CHEAPER AND FASTER) They have everything. I am not sure if they have these records in Frankfort,Ky or not. Hope this helps. Operated by the staff of the Customer Services Division, "inquire" is intended to provide timely responses to reference requests, or at least get the process started quickly by referring your message to the appropriate office or person. We also answer general inquiries about the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). If you have not visited NARA's web page, we recommend that you do because there is much useful information about the agency and its records holdings and services. The URL is: http://www.nara.gov . This message is automatically generated whenever one of the following words appears in the text of an incoming message: form, forms, and Form. We have set up our e-mail system in this way because we have found that these words appear frequently in requests for the specific genealogy reference forms we use at NARA. (AHA!) The numbers and subjects of these forms are as follows: Form 80 (Military service and pension records prior to World War I, including the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, the Mexican War, Civil War, and the Spanish-American War) Form 81 (Passenger Arrival Records) Form 82 (Copies of Census Records -- requiring your knowledge of the publication, roll, and page number, as we do not conduct searches of Census Records for you) Form 83 (Eastern Cherokee Applications) Form 84 (Land Entry Papers -- for Federal lands only), and Form 180 (Military Service Records, World War I and later -- the form can also be downloaded directly from the following internet location: http://www.nara.gov/regional/mpr.html) If you indicated in your original message the FORM NUMBER, the QUANTITY needed, and YOUR POSTAL MAILING ADDRESS, you have given us the information we need to fill your order. However, if you did not include this information in your original message, please re-send your message with this information. While we try to fill orders within 3 to 5 days, sometimes the number of inquiries is too great to do so. We therefore appreciate your patience very much. If your inquiry concerns a different subject or one which requires a more substantive reply, it will be evaluated by an archivist (a real person, honest!) and either answered by that person directly, or referred to the proper reference or other office. Please do not expect immediate responses from other offices as it takes more time to make a substantive reply -- usually 2 to 3 weeks. As with any electronic system, problems/bugs sometime occur. If this should happen to you or you want to register a comment, complaint, or congratulations for a job well-done, please send your e-mail to: rick.blondo@arch2.nara.gov . >From Rick, Charlene, Cynthia, and Bob, thanks for reading this entire message (and don't forget the NARA web page!). >>> "kyfamily@webtv.net" 02/04/99 19:27 >>> Please send to me 10 forms #80 Judith Fisk 12 Franconian Ct Frankenmuth, Mi 48734 --WebTV-Mail-866378643-575--

    2. I was told that aol defines some files that are sent from other servers and makes them into mime files and you need to ask aol to help you redefine them. Good luck cuz I know I always have trouble when I get them like that too.
