Good morning Becky , I have been looking the William W. Brown line over again , and I beleive that he and my G Grandfather Bailey F. Brown were 1/2 brothers . William`s parents were Baily Brown and Jane Bell , Bailey F. Brown`s parents were Bailey Brown and Priscilla ( Rayborn ) Brown . Bailey F. Brown married Lucy E. Stapp in Casey Co. and they had 3 daughters . Bailey F. moved to Lawrence Co. Indiana with his family , and settled later in Monroe Co. Indiana . Several other siblings of Bailey F. also moved to Lawrence Co. Indiana . One of Bailey F. Brown`s daughters married Samuel Peyton of Casey Co. in Indiana . Looks like we have the Brown`s starting to come together , now if I can find out about Priscilla I can put together a pretty good line up. Thanks for jogging my memory, Bob

Brown to be the same William Brown you list as Bailey Brown's son? I'm not proposing that he is, but he could be so far as I know, so I just want to rule it out if there's something you know that I don't. Becky
Hi Roberta, I recognize you from the Taylor e-mail bunch. I can't believe we are cousins again! Yes, it certainly is a small world, and apparently, an even smaller gene pool! ;-) I will write you directly on our Browns. Hi Becky, This line of William Brown and Jane Bryant tie into my Brown lines, Priscilla Brown daughter of James D. Brown and Rebecca Baldock, married John Hughett in Casey County, Kentucky. William W. Brown, father: James Monroe Brown, mother, Martha "Patsy" Minton. I am also tied into Joshua Taylor and Sarah Kelsey, this is a small world. Hope to hear from you soon. Hi Bob, Sorry I can't shed any light on what you wrote, but I was wondering if you have any more info on the William Brown b. 1837 who you have as the son of Bailey and Jane Brown. My grt-grt grandfather William W. Brown was b. abt. 1830 in Casey Co. I have no idea who his parents were, but then I haven't researched that line so far back yet. He married Elizabeth Jane Bryant April 16, 1854 in Casey Co., and they lived on Brush Creek. Her parents Asa & Vina? (___) Bryant are listed with them in one of the census records (don't have my records handy right now). Children of William W. and Jane (Bryant) Brown, all b. Casey Co: Jesse Monroe Brown 1855 (my grt-grandfather; Casey Co. sheriff, parttime jailer/tax collector) James W. Brown 1856 George M. Brown 1859 Mary Ann (Molly) Brown 1861 John Brown abt. 1864 I have more info on these folks and would love to hook up with another relative! Hi Becky , I was just looking at the dates of my william born 1837 , and your`s born abt 1830 , seven years difference. It is possible that they are the same , it would be easier if I knew who Baileys siblings and parernts were . The 1860 Casey co census shows William W. Brown 32 married to Eliza J. 29 with 3 children , Jesse M. 5 ,James C. 3 , and George W. 1 .Given that William was 32 in 1860 , he would have been born about 1837-1838 , my William I think. If your William W. married Elizabeth Jane Bryant April 16 , 1854 , it would appear that these are the same people , and that we are indeed cousins . I was looking at the 7 years difference in the birth dates , but it appears that your William born abt. 1830 , and mine born in 1837 married the same person , Elizabeth Jane Bryant . You can say that William was born in 1837-1838 , now we can move ahead . Good deal , finally a cousin to work with , WHEW , I thought I would never find one working on the family tree . We have much to discuss now . Let me know what you think., Bob
Hello Becky, and thank you for responding . I have no proof , but I would think that perhaps my Bailey and your William were siblings , and I don`t have the name of Bailey`s parents yet . I would like to share information I have on this line , I just want it to be accurate . I hope to print a book for the casey Co. Library on my familes in Casey Co. They include Stapp , Carpenter , Peyton , Rayborn , Wheat , Dye , and McDaniels . There are others , but these are the root surnames . I would appreciate any information you can give , and will share what I know . Keep in touch , my email address is >> fpslug33@aol.com << , but any information can be shared on this site , as ther may be others who are working on this line as well. Keep in touch , Bob
Hello fellow rooters, I was preparing to submitt a Brown family line to this site , when I learned there was a mistake in it . I want only to submitt accurate information , so I am asking for some help to put the question at ease . My G G Grandparents Baily Brown and Priscilla Rayborn Brown married and lived in casey Co. Bailey died and is buried in Casey Co. Bailey was born December 1811 , in Casey Co. He married first Jane Bell , October 28 , 1831 and they had 8 children. Thomas--1831 John -- 1833 Malissa -- 1835 William -- 1837 Chesley-- 1839 Dica B. --1841 Marion -- 1843 matilda -- 1846 Jane was born about 1812 , and died Bet. 1850 -1855 , Casey Co. This is a;ll I have on Jane . When Jane died Bailey married Priscilla Rayborn march 30 , 1856 . he was 40 years old , and she was a maiden 21 years old . They had children also , Herbert Unknown Margaret J. --1859 Bailey F. August 25 , 1861 ( my G Grandfather ) George W. --1867 Mary --1870 Wallace -- 1872 Edward -- 1879 I find them last in the 1880 Casey Co. census, Baily 69 years old , and priscilla 44 years old. I had found another Priscilla Brown who married a John S. Hewitt , and I thought it was my Priscilla. I find that in fact these are 2 seperate Priscillas , so I know nothing of Priscilla after 1880 . I was wondering if someone would have information on my Priscilla after Bailey died, or before , or on Jane Bell , Bailey`s first wife . Children shown on the 1880 census are; Margaret J. --21 Baley F. -- 16 George W. -- 13 Willus -- 8 It is possible that Priscilla remarried , but likley was past child bearing age , but I don`t have that information. Thank you, and when I get this straight , I will post to the board for all to share in , Bob

Ralph, I wonder if Solomon and Henry Moore might be the sons of Joshua Moore (also the proposed father of Elizabeth Moore who married Thomas Mason in 1818 in Casey Co.)? I only have circumstancial associations, but am seeking probate records of Casey County for proof of paternity. Contact me via e-mail to compare notes. There is a marker at Zollicoffer Confederate Cemetery in Pulaski County for a 1st Lt. Bailie Peyton. Does anyone know if this soldier was any relation to the Peyton line(s) in Casey County? -Christy
Hello, I was looking at an old family tree that had been written up several years ago, and saw that an ancestor had been born in VA and died in Middleburg, KY. After looking at an old atlas I realized that he was born and had passed on in the same area, as KY split from VA in the late 1700's. His name was John LUCAS, Jr. Apparently, there had been a John LUCAS, Sr., but there was no information listed in the book. Does anyone have any information on the LUCAS line? I recently moved to Jackson MO from Wisconsin, and plan on making the trip over to the Middleburg area to do some scouting around, and it would be nice to learn of a few places to actually look for the information. That would be appreciated also. Thanks for your time. Chris Maccaux
Hi Jacque, I purchased a county map at the newspaper office a couple of years ago for a couple of dollars. Don't remember the details but on the map it says that it is prepared by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Highways Division of Planning Copies are available at nominal cost. address: Kentucky Department of Highways Map Sales Frankfort, Ky. 40602 Bill
Jacque, The library has a 12" x 12" county map. Also, the sheriff probably has a county map. Those would be the only sources that I know of. John Carter P.S. My great grandfather was William Albert Cox. He was born in Casey County according to his marriage certificate, when he married Amanda Susan Coomer. They were married in Somerset, Pulaski County. If you find anything on him, I'd appreciate knowing! Thanks! I know he was in Casey Co. in 1807 because he had a land survey at that time. He sold that property to a John CHESNEY? in 1816. I have been unable to locate Daniel after 1816. Jacque
