Casey County was formed from Lincoln County about 1806. My wife may have some data on a Lucy Drummond, who married into our Allen family. I will check with her and get back to you if she has anything useful. Vicki, Yes this is the same family. I am looking for any leads which may take us all back to Ireland. Have you gone that far? Benjamin's father (Robert b. 1695) appears to have been from Armagh, Ireland...and his wife (Sarah Cathey) of Antrim. Antrim is where Moses came from with his father John or Charles (or maybe both names are wrong), in about 1750. Sarah was born in 1697 there, in Antrim. Moses was the father of your Sarah Allen who married his son Job. She was the first of 3 wives. It appears they had 3 children together. But for the most part, I am interested in going back to Ireland. Do you happen to know if there are any records, or family bibles, or other viable accounts of the life of the family in Antrim? Thanks for your time. Christen PS I am from the line of John Sweeney the youngest of Moses and Elizabeth's children. Whew! I guess I was lucky to be born!
Hello List, Interested in John Drummond who was from Lincoln Co. and died in the French & Indian War abt. 1760. He supposedly was one of the "Can-tuc-kee" pioneers. As I understand, Casey Co. was once part of Lincoln county. I am starting here since his son James, was shown to have lived in Lincoln Co. until 1810 when he was shown to be living in Casey Co. I'm thinking that is the time of the county change. I'd like info on James who married Mary Lucinda Joslin -- 22 Aug 1791, also. Any bibliographies would be helpful. Thanks, Gary Stoltman Mercerville, NJ
Is this the same ALLEN line you are working on ? If so I'd be interested in what you might have on Maragret Green . I have additional on the ALLEN / BELL line to share if interested. Hello list, Does anyone know anything about the various Brewer or Coulter families that lived in the Rolling Fork area of Casey Co. in the early to mid 1800s? I suspect that my great grandmother Delly Coulter Brewer took her 3 sons (Harvey Smith Brewer b.1813, John G. Brewer b.1814, Sterling C. Brewer b.1816) to live with relatives in this area after the death of her husband David in 1819. They were living with the Mercer Co. Dutch in Harrodsburg at the time of David's death. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve Brewer
Sarah, or Sally ALLEN was from the line of BENJAMIN ALLEN: Parents ROBERT ALLEN b. 1695 Armagh, VA. 1769 Frederick Co., VA m. about 1730 Ireland to SARAH CATHEY b. 1697 Antrim , Ulster, Ireland. Now I have been trying to trace the origins of my MOSES SWEENEY, who married ELIZABETH JOHNSON and had a flock of about 13 in Liberty. I wonder since them ALLENS came from the same place in Ireland, as Moses was said to have come with, when he was somewhere between 4 and 16 with his father, if they'd have anything on my Moses back in Antrim. It was over on the N.Eastern part of Ireland, but the Sweeney's originally came from Donegal, on the North Western part of Ireland Island...*s* Anyway, I just got this great pedigree off the LDS site, took all of 3 minutes! Benjamin was married to Margaret GREEN (WAHAB). If anyone wants to share, please let me know. Christen ICQ 35092530
Bill and Loydeen; Wish I could go to. I was there doing genealogy this Fall. I believe they get lots of folk on genealogy quests there! Be sure to go to the Liberty Library. I've been really busy, and not paying good attention to the latest posts. Are you guys from the family of Sarah Allen who married Job Sweeney in 1798, Son of Moses? Christen
Glory B-- Would love information on DUNCAN TAVERN you mention in your post to Bill and Loydean. Have a Duncan mentioned in my McLain line I am trying to trace. Them McLains show up only for a short time in the history, but is a direct line to me...b. 1847 I believe my records show that he was High Sheriff of Marion Co., KY Christen A. Rosamilia

Cindy........I have a John B Henson, son of James Strange Henson and Melinda B Mills....in the 1850 Census of Casey Co..age 13. A later note in "The Henson Family" by Marian Conradi of Des Moines, IA indicates that John B married Priscilla Shackelford dau of Nicholas & Nancy Shackelford 17 Mar 1856, and that they are buried at the Thomastown Cemetery in Casey Co. Stone shows John B Henson, 1833-1892........ John B was no longer with J.S. Family at 1860 Census and later. He did appear in the 1880 Census as follows: John B Henson 49 yrs Farmer b. KY 1831 Priscilla 46 b. KY 1834 Nancy Eliz 21 b. KY 1859 James W. 18 b. KY 1862 Melinda S 15 b. KY 1865 Nicholas H. 10 b. KY 1870 Joel M. 10 b. KY 1872 Harry E 8 b. KY 1874 Elijah D 6 b. KY 1876 Sorry I don't have the entire "Henson Family", only a few pages that Mrs Conradi sent me back in the 1980's when I was researching Elisha Henson & Family. Hal from sunny California!

Cindy; If John was run out of town there may be some court records to substanciate that fact. I would also like to starte a list of Central Kentucky information online. I was recently sent this addy for Augusta County, VA. http://www.rootsweb.com/+AH4-chalkley/volume_1/or01_12.htm They are incomplete and admittedly have errors, but they are fascinating and start in the year 1745. I wonder how many of these types of resources are available. I know Cindi's list is one of the best places to check. I just opened a genealogy chat room, which I am working diligently to keep on coarse. So far (6 days new), I am exceedingly pleased with it, and we do a lot of genealogy!!! But it takes a great deal of work, so if you or any of the other list members come up with other resources, or get a chance to get over to Cindi's or other related sites to get resource sites, I'd love to hear of them. Christen Rosamilia In Casey County, my lines are Hall, Sweeney, Stallings. In surrounding areas Peak, Nevitt, Phillips, Leeman, and some others...
