    2. Thank you, Dorothy, for taking the time to list these names for me! I greatly appreciate it. I don't know if any of those folks are my Porters or not, sadly. I can't seem to find any sure connection between my grandmother, Alice Herndon PORTER (b. 1888), and anyone before her. I have word from living relatives that her parents were John January PORTER and Dolly CARPENTER, but I can't seem to find any records of them (so far). I wonder if one of the two families who have Johns in them might be the one I"m looking for.... However, both Johns would be rather old to be starting a family in 1888. Perhaps one of these families is the next generation back?? I will have to keep searching. Anyway, you've given me a fresh start! Thank you! ~~Anne Sommers Wityk dommana@aol.com Looking for: FOGLE & PORTER in Maryland and Kentucky

    3. About Middleburg burials... KY Dar stated in a book that Rev.War Soldier Osbourne Coffey and wife Molly Nightingale were bur. Middleburg. Did not say which cemetary (but I would think the older part) I have been there but did not see the markers. Neither did I see one for his nephew, who d. at Middleburg according to War of 1812 pension application of his then (2nd)wife Elizabeth. His name is A.Jackson Lanham. Does anyone know where at Middleburg, my great-gr grandfather might be buried? I suppose there were other cemetaries? Judy

    2. Thanks to you Goode researchers for all of the great information you've been posting! Question: Judy and I have been trying to figure out where Polly Jane Goode and her children were when the 1880 census was taken. We can't find her anywhere. James T. died in 1877, and Polly Jane still had young children with her. She must've moved in with some of her older children, but we haven't been able to find her. Can anyone help us figure this out? Thanks. --Christy
