    3. Judy, Do you have anything on a death or children. He bought land from Samuel Goldsmith in 1813 in Casey County and his wife in 1825 from her brother John Waters with witnesses as Joseph Waters (brother) and Evan Moore (we believe a son). They had Martha, Isaac, Nathaniel, and Milton. We know there were more. Nathaniel was first in 1804-then gap, Martha 1810 and Isaac 1813 and Milton 1818. (Evan was born 1805 Lincoln Co and Married Polly Wolford 1828 Casey County) Mort married 1803 Lincoln to Elizabeth Waters. Her parents lived in Lincoln. We believe Mort died around 1825 because Eliz bought land in 1825 and was listed alone in 1830 Census.Old Mort appeared out of thin air and disappeared equally mysteriously. Thank you for your help. 2. Hazel, I am working on the Walkers of Casey Creek on the border of Adair and Casey Counties. Also, researching related Hancock, and Gilpin families. I do have one Goode connection. Estill T. Goode who married Lou S. Walker. They had two children: Paul Goode (1894-1960) and Horace O. Goode (1899-1977). I will have to introduce myself sometime. Tony

    2. Isn't it the best??? I love it. They are so patient with this "crazy, mixed-up kid". My lines: White, Douglas, Miller, Goode, Christison, Clemmons/Clements, Gilley, Glisson, Wilkins, Combs (which I absolutely refuse to work on). I think those are the main ones. I'll have to admit that I spend more time helping friends than working on my own. Many reasons for this but won't bore you. What are your lines? Hazel

    3. Hi! My family is from Casey County and I don't have much information on my paternal grandfathers side. His name was Beecher William Pierce (4/14/1880-6/23/1934) he was married to Ethel Mae Pendleton and they had 5 children Arthur, Ewell Gordon, Ethel Mae, Gladys Irene, Beecher W., Jr. I do know that Beecher William Pierce, Sr. parents were Joseph Morton Pierce and Martha Jane Page. I would like to know if there were any other siblings and any information on Joseph and Martha. I also know that Beecher & Ehtel Mae divorced and he remarried but I don't know the 2nd wifes name. I would appreciate any information you might have. Thank you Kim Pidgeon pidgeons@redrose.net

    1. [KYCASEY-L] John Christison/Christian
    2. For those researching Christison and owning "Casey County, Kentucky, 1806 Settlement and Early Development", you might like to know that the "John Christian" on page 25 is actually John Christison. These two names were interchanged from their days in Maryland. By 1880 in Marion County KY, Samuel Christison's family had actually become Christian. And, Thomas, son of John, had a deed in which he was called both Christison and Christian on the same paper. Hope this alerts someone. Hazel
