Hi Larry, Thanks alot for the flies. My frog loved 'em!!! Best Wishes, Larry Witt 3271 Hwy. 39 Somerset, Ky. 42503
Hi, I plan to be in Casey Co over the weekend of June 19th and I would like to add my flies to the mix. Is a Gedcom file acceptable;e? Can I just drop it off at the Library as I will not be able to attend the Apple Festival? Thanks, Joseph Lawrence Clements
Yes, We reap what we sow. Those wonderful police in New York must love all people, especially of color. Those young people in Mississippi? with their chain and pick-up love all colors. Those wonderful young men in Wyoming with their tolerance for people want to the world to know how wonderful they are thus they display their tolerance on a fence. On and On blaming others for the actions of the individual. Flip Wilson only said that "the devil made me do it" now we have progressed to the point that the responsibility goes far beyond the individual and the family unit. Food for thought, Larry

Are any of you MOORE researchers familiar with or descended from Elijah Moore, who was an attorney in Casey County at the turn of the century? He had a wife named Daisy. Let me know. Christy
Hello Lynne-- It was Judy, her husband Elton, and I who tried to find the Goode gravesite at the Vitus Clements farm. We did find the Vitus Clements farm, but we unfortunately didn't find Fleming or Alfred Goode's graves. A few days after our trip, we got a piece of information which might've helped us find it. I'll tell you all I know including what I found out afterwards, and maybe you'll have more luck than we did. The Vitus Clements farm is in Adair County, not far from the Casey County line. If you're travelling south on Highway 551 out of Casey County, it's about 2 1/2 to 3 miles south of the Casey/Adair County line. The farm is on the right side of the road. Look for a big, white house, set back from the road a little. As I recall, it is on a curve. If you go too far, you'll come to a small cemetery on the left side of the road. There are some Goodes buried there, but not Fleming or Alfred. Judy and I spoke to the man who lives in the Vitus Clements house now, and he knew nothing about a gravesite on the property. We looked around, but never found anything. What I found out several days later is that Fleming is buried "behind the house about 200 yards and a little to the left towards the creek. There is a tree in the field close to the cemetery just a ways from the fence row." I also understand that there is no grave stone, so all you can do is find the approximate location. If you have trouble locating the Vitus Clements farm, or you aren't sure which house is the right one, you can stop at the little country store which is on the right less than a mile to the north of it , just inside the Adair County line. The people there are very friendly, and they told us exactly which house it was. Good luck, Lynne! Let me know if you find it! Christy
Bob, Mordicaih was spelled in various ways, but in the end on Elizabeth's grave (wife of Mordecai) was born abt 1789 place unk. He married Elizabeth Waters in Lincoln County June 20, 1803. children 1804 Nathaniel, 1805 poss Evan, 1810 Margaret, 1812 Isaac, 1820 Milton. He bought land from Samuel Goldsmith in Casey county in 1813, Elizabeth bought land Green River in 1825. Evan was one witness to deed. That's where we get his name. An Evan was born in Lincoln Co in 1825 who married Polly Wolford Oct 2, 1828 in Casey County. We have nothing else on Evan or the other unk children they had acording to the census. The other children moved to Illinois around Macoupin county along with Elizabeth aroung 1830-1833.Elizabeth gave permission for Isaac to be married there in 1833. Elizabeth's father was Isaac Waters. We have her brothers and sisters. We received a lot from Ralph Taylor's book From Sea to Shining Sea-A Taylor Family Saga. His family goes back to Pomfret, England.Waters came by way of VA. WE believe Mort Came originally from NC. Talk of Indian blood is strong.A letter from Lila Roberts ( his ggggGrandaughter) sic http://misslink.net/moore.I'm still in process of writing. The problem is that Good old Mort doesn't exist before he married. A lot of Moore's came from NC and PA. One was born abt 1784 in PA out of Henry Moore and Priscilla Jackson. Also a Henry S Moore was born in in 1802 KY out of Elnathan Moore and Mary Scott. One was born 1827 Loudoin VA, father Payton Moore- that name is strong in family. These could be relatives-brothers or children that I could connect.I am actually at a blank wall as far as the Moore's. Anything on the Moore's would be someplace to look. I plan on sending date file to Casey Co. My date is strong in Illinois esp in Macoupin and Morgan County. The line goes, Mort, Isaac, John Milton, Will J, Leslie Ernest, William L SR to William L Jr.(my husband) Mort's middle initial is Possibly J. Hello Phyllis, I am a Burks researcher that has a connection to your George A. McAninch and Elizabeth Ross in my data base. I have cut and pasted a family history for you. I don't remember who it was, but somebody was going to Casey Co. to the Virgus Clements Cemetery to find Fleming Goode's burial place. I was just wondering if that person found it and if they can tell me where it is, so that when I go down to visit I'll be able to find it also. Thanks Lynne Dutton

Nancy, I checked Casey, Boyle, Lincoln, Washington, Mercer and Pulaski. No grave for Mordecai. I'd make a wild guess that he is buried in Casey and his grave has just not been found. Will keep an eye out. Hazel
I am searching for any info on my grandmother. She is listed in the 1910 census in Okla, Major county married to my Grandfather date 1906. I then have a marriage record of her marrying a ROBERT GENTIAN Oct. 14, 1914, in Casey Co. listing her name as MOLLIE HAGGARD, at Judd. I then have a copy of my mother's first marriage bond MELVIA UPPERMAN marrying OLLIE BLACK, date May 31, 1922, Liberty, Casey Co, with MOLLY GENTIAN listed as parent. I have a brother who said Mollie was buried at Breckenridge, could you do a look-up to see if she is buried in Casey County? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Jane Robinson
Here is what I got from my Aunt when she and my Uncle were looking for the family a few years back. Not sure of some of the names and maybe they are not spelled right but I copied it the best I could. Linda Durham Family June 3, 1999 I am typing up everything the way it was sent to me by a Maraice Williams. The hand writing is hard to make out sometimes so the spelling may not be right in places. Hector Lee Durham John Reid Durham ----------not sure were he fits in. Box 307 Yosemite, KY 42566 Mt. Vernon, KY Father-----Joe Montgomery Durham Grandfather-------James Jefferson Durham My great grandfather John Durham came to Casey County early in 1800. Was born Sept. 25th, 1796 (can't make out the place) when Washington was president. Was baptized June 9, 1816. Hi, one of my block walls is on my McAninch line. My 3rd gr.grandfather was George A. McAninch b. abt. 1795 in Virginia d. Aug. 18, 1869 in Casey County. He was married to Elizabeth Ross. They had several children, my gr.gr.grandfather Henry H. McAninch b. April 14, 1824 and d. July 13, 1910. Henry H. McAninch married Malissa J. Ross who was born Jan. 8, 1828 and died April 20, 1916. I have a photo of their headstones and much McAninch information. However, I have been unable to find any background information on these two Ross ladies. I don't know if they are related other than by marriage. If anyone has any information on who Elizabeth Ross or Malissa J. Ross' parents are I would appreciate the help. I have exhausted all sources that I know of. Thanks, Phyllis
