    2. birds27
    3. I am interested in this wagon train because, according to our family history, my gr gr grandfather, Giles Daniel 1834-1923 of Casey Co, Ky, was a guide on a wagon train west and that he also set up wagons for people going west. Giles did not, however, relocate out of Casey Co, Ky. I am anxious to find out anything concerning these wagon train, or trains out of Casey. Brenda

    2. W. D. Allen Sr.
    3. "...if anybody out there can relate to this...." Robert Allen left County Armagh in Ulster, Ireland for Frederick County in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in about 1738. His son, Benjamin Allen, left Botetourt County, Virginia, for Casey County, Kentucky about 1785. His son, John Allen, left Casey County about 1819 for what became Scott County, Illinois. In 1857 John's son, James G. Allen, left for Linn County, Missouri. After serving in the Civil War his son, William Martin Allen, left for Sumner County, Kansas, in 1888. And his son, Charles Franklin Allen, settled first in Grant County, then in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma in 1893 where my father, Clifford Dale Allen, was raised. So it looks like we have ancestors who all had many similar expereinces in their western migrations across this continent. 2. Neil and Marshall Morgan
    3. I'll try this again. In 1886 a wagon train left Casey Co. KY for points west. I know that William Houston Morgan b. 1846 and his family were in the train and Franklin and Patsy McDonald were also with the train. I believe there were others in that train and possibly dropped off along the way. I believe they left Casey Co. and made their way to the Wilderness trail, then took the Buffalo Trace to Missouri and then to Kansas in our case. I also believe there were other people on the train that dropped off along the way, and others who continued to Texas. William Houston Morgan and his family made their home in Jackson Co. Kansas and Franklin McDonald and Patsy (Morgan) McDonald made their home in Hiawatha, KS. Our family arrived here in October 1886 because little Jimmy died shortly upon arrival. He is buried in Circleville, KS, So if anybody out there can relate to this, please e-mail me. Thanks for reading this e-mail and please answer. Neil Morgan
