    3. Marcella give your dad a big kiss from us Rayburn cousins he is helping to put the puzzle together. Keep him talking !!!! please !!!!! Could you ask him from a desperate English lady does he know what happened to Morris's father Robert Rayborn [Henry Clays brother] ? I can't find where the poor soul died. I really would like to know, I can't find him on the KY death index. As you could see from his photo he was a pretty good age. I hadn't realised that Morris and Verta were cousins so that's another piece of the puzzle put into place. I'm sending Morris's obit and death cert I cant remember whether I did before or not when we first got in touch. Bill is sort of double related isn't he...........Diane

    3. Roberta, Thanks. I guess her name is Mary Belle, as her marriage record lists her name as Mary B. Cochran. Therefore, she is not the daughter of Brice and Cenia Cochran. I'm doing genealogy with one of her descendants. Do you know if Myrtee is the correct middle name for Nathan M. Atwood? This descendant's family shows it to be either Merdia or Meredith. Jax

    2. Jenny-I have Dad sitting here with me. Nancy Hamilton Douglas was James Wesley Hamilton's sister. And we are sure that Nancy and Jason's children are the ones that lived in California. And he says that Jason Douglas and Betty (Rayborn) Hamilton were married in 1940 in Reno Nevada. I am going to try to verify this. Marcella (Hamilton) Mahan

    3. Jax, There are so many Mary COCHRAN(s) on the census it ain't funny. The marriage book I have says she is Mary "B." Cochran. But on the 1880 census there are no "B(s)". Do you have a birthdate for her? Nathan M. is listed as Nathan M. in both the 1860 and 1880 census also marriage book. Mary in Georgia [email protected]

    3. Mary in Georgia, According to Gladys Thomas' book, Mary's tombstone says she was born 1863. I think she was a daughter of Brice and Cenia Peyton Cochran. Oh, her middle initial is E on her tombstone, apparently. Jax

    2. Good Morning. I have been watching the exchange on the Rayborn family. I hve the following info in my notes in case it might help someone. And if you know anything about this William Harrison BERNARD, would you please email. He is not the same William who was the son of Thornton BERNARD and Sarah (Sally) COMPTON. Hope the following info helps someone.~~~Pam ========================================= William H. Bernard = Nancy S. Rayborn Casey Co., KY married 1/26/1860 ========================================= 1850 Casey Co KY census book: pg 86 / family # 55 lists one Washington RAIBORN @ 47y - m - Farmer - $1000. rel est - b KY / wife = Polly - @ 45y - m - 6 children in the home - b VA / children = F.H. (male) @ 20y - b -KY / Lucinda @ 15y - b KY / Betsy Ann @ 12y - b KY / Nancy @ 8 y - b KY / George A. C. @ 5y - b KY / Nancy A. @ 1y - b KY. Why there are 2 girls in the same family with the same name, is odd. Not unheard of, but odd. Richard and Nancy's marriage not found in the Casey Co Marriage book. Probably went to another county. Also, found on the 1860 Casey Co KY census, house # 808 / family # 811 = Richard RABOURN @ 26y - m -farmer - $150 rel est and $400 pers prop. - b VA. / Nancy J. @ 23y - m -3 children in the home / children = George R @ 5y / Rebecca M. @ 2y / and Lydia P.C. 2 4/12y.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lAB.2ACE/2921.1.2 Message Board Post: I'm not sure exactly where mine were from...yet. I know the Vell Dora I mention (and she's been listed as Vildora, Veldora, Valdora, Bell Dora) was born in Casey Co. I THINK one or two of her kids were born in Middleburg. But I know she moved to Kenton Co (up by Cincinnati) for another child. Her husband (Alvin Floyd) was born in Russell County, and his family (descendant of Col Matthew Floyd) were in Pulaski a lot. So they were all over that area. I also have a cousin who says some of the family was in Liberty awhile. But I don't yet know much about my Gilpin/Roberts marriage (Henry R Gilpin to Mary Donna Roberts) - I just yesterday confirmed their names (with Vell Dora's death certificate). I'm sorry I don't know more. Thanks! Brenda Geiger
