The only Walter Gilpin I have (I haven't created a database of all I've seen, I only have some details on my own lines).... is: Walter E. Gilpin. It is possible he was born 1895, but I have him as 1896. He is the younger brother to my Grandmother Veldora (or VELL Dora). But I don't have info of him being born in Pulaski. I have his parents as being from Casey in each census I've found them. But - those counties are right next to each other. Funny thing is - I looked him up on Ancestry.com this morning and found him (but still in Casey County) in 1920 married to what appears to be "Nannie". The ending is DEFINITELY IE, the beginning is questionable. They have one son, Ralph, age 1 and some months. So - the only Gilpins I have are in Casey, and this is the only Walter that I have. FYI: Should this Walter "match up", and we're cousins...my family legend has it that he would be 1/4 Cherokee..but we've not found even an inkling of proof of that yet. Forgot to mention, Frankfort is about a hour and a half drive from Liberty. The records dept for birth, death records is located at 275 East Main Street in Frankfort. There is a hour wait for the certificates. They also have records at the Archives on micro fiche. The Archives is located at 300 Coffee Tree Road. Hi Pat, The last time I was in Liberty they were at the License branch across the street from the Court House, about 3 months ago. I have all 3 books by Frances Terry Ingmire, Births, Deaths and Marriages. The book list no source, but at one time they reported births, deaths and then stopped and then started again, then stopped. Some of the information in these books are wrong, but that is the case with a lot of information. At least it is a place to start. I would guess she got the information from her books from the Micro film. If you need a look-up for these books just send me the names etc. would be happy to help. I have the Casey Marriages, Birth and Death 1852-1910 on Micro film. No, I don't do look-ups, but with you being out of the area same as me would be happy to help. Roberta

Hi Roberta, Are the marriage records in Liberty or Frankfort? How far is Frankfort from Liberty, do you know? The Casey Co Library lists a couple of books "Casey Co. Birth Records 1852-1907" by Ingmire and "Casey Co. Deaths 1852-1907" by Ingmire. Are you familiar with these books? What is the source of these records? Thanks for your interest in helping me. And I've not collected any of the Eads data. Just wanted to tell you, in general, that they appear with Woodrum and Gilpins a lot in the Casey County censuses I've been looking into (but, not recording as they're not my line). I Can tell you that there was an EnocK who shows born in TN and was age 30 in Casey County District one on 9/7/1850 in the 1850 census. He appears with Matilda age 32 from TN, Rich G age 10 from TN, Wm. W. born KY age 8, and Eli born KY age 5. Also in 1850, there was an Eli age 40 born TN, along with Rebecca age 40 born TN, James age 16 born TN (actually - this is a James whose age matches one of my possible lineage I'm looking into, but think MY James was born KY), and William age 14 born TN, and Nancy age 10. Since you mentioned Ruth. There is a Ruthy Gilpin in 1850 Casey County district 2. She is listed as Ruthy, age 66, a farm widow who was born VA. She is with Francis Gilpin a 37 year old female who "spins". I have about 4 more families in Casey County from 1850. They lived in Adair, Green and Casey counties. William died about 1830-1840. They had a daughter Harriot Gilpin who married Robert Eades/Eads. She died before 1870. Have you any connection with this Gilpin branch? I have record that William was the son of Elias or Elisha Gilpin who was the son of Isaac Gilpin. There were at least three Gilpin families in Casey County. I think Eli and Enoch Gilpin were their names and they came from Tennessee but were grandsons of Isaac Gilpin.
