I am trying to zero in on my gg grandmother LYDIA WOOD. She married JOHN BEAR (or variation thereof) in Carter Co. KY around 1870. She was John's second wife. She died c1879. I have an affidavit concerning her death in which the place of death is hard to read. One researcher has interpretted the place to be Sky Furnace, KY. To me it appears to be s.t.e.e.r. followed by some gobly-goop and KY. The affidavit was filed by Dr. J.M. Logan of Kilgore, KY Carter Co. Has anyone out there ever heard of a SKY FURNACE, KY? How about a STEER (gobly-goop) KY? Is anyone familiar with Dr. J.M. Logan? Is anyone familiar with any WOODs/BEARs living in the Carter/Boyd/Lawrence Co area? Clyde
