    3. Another thing to remember is that many small cemeteries were moved due to the impoundment of Grayson Reservoir. Most of these ended up in East Carter Memory Gardens. I'm not sure if any cemeteries were moved for Smokey Lake or not. I have heard that the Corps of Engineers did a very extensive survey of that general area when they were looking at impounding part of Tygart Creek - I believe they did the same for the Grayson Reservoir area. I know this as my grandparents were buried along there, he in 1918, she in 1927. (My mom then age 7), anyway, I finally found them in the Dixon Cemetery, Ashland, Boyd County, so if you do not find your family in cemetery, they could have been moved due to I-64.
