The child Martin had limited data published as relatives were still in search of sources, land deeds, marriage records, death records. Some of the sources claimed have been on the U.S. Film 823,578 and the History of Neosha & Wilson County, Kansas. Other sources have been LDS library films 924,; 823; 578; 570; & 220. Census records of 1900 list confusing information about places of birth for parents. The fire of 1856 wiped out much history. William Lankston Lewis b. 28 December 1836 Boone Co., Indiana and died on 33 January 1906 in Verdigris Twp., Wilson County, Kansas. 11 January 1860 before War, was Marriage: Emily Catherine Palmer the d/o Jesse Palmer and Rachel Leabo. The marriage was in Boone County, IN. Six Children were born in Boone County, Indiana during and after war years After the War, William Lankston Lewis returned to farming his land, until 1871 move to Kansas where he temporarily was a one term teacher in Wilson County school, but with a growing family needed to farm full-time. He had been popular with his fellow citizens and of the Kansas Verdigris Township and had become a member of the Board. In 1890 appointed census enumerator. He was member of Coyville Lodge number 57, A.F. & A.M. ((source pages 610-611, History of Wilson Co., Kansas; Census of 1880, 1875, 1885 of Kansas State Census.))
