(sic) near the Gibbons residence and called back to the conductor that he had run over a man. On backing up the train, two men were found. One was Pointer Haney, with his head cut off, ribs and lungs mashed and an arm cut off and thrown some distance. The other was John Young, commonly known as "Brigham" Young had the upper part of his head mashed and his legs cut off. Coroner Ford found on them a revolver, razor, $2.05, and an empty whiskey bottle. It appears these men were from Ironton, Ohio. Haney was called "Pointer" because he had lost all fingers except a index finger on one hand. We beleive his name was Walter. >From BYGONE BYLINES by Evelyn Jackson and Cora Newman Sorry, I did not find FARIS Rice - there are many pages with references to Rice. If you have another first name I will look for it, I'm afraid there are to many articles to type them all. Maybe some one on the list has FARIS RICE. Betty
