    3. The only MESSER family info I have is what I gleaned from Civil War pension papers of my gr grandfather, Jesse CONN of Carter, County KY. He had apparently married Eliza Jane MESSER in the spring of 1865 and she died sometime in 1869. The marriage seems to be close to the date he was mustered out of the Army. There is no reference given to there being any children. This affidavit was given by Josiah CONN (his cousin) and a Polly Ann MESSER who was 54 and lived in Wesleyville, Carter County, KY as of May 18, 1888, the date of the affidavit. This was a surprise to us as no one had been aware that he had been married before he married our gr gr grandmother and I hadn't yet gotten around to pursing it any further. Hope this may be of some help.
