    3. Who are the parents of these Nolens in eastern Kentucky? Looking to tie up some loose ends - well, actually, quite a few loose ends. Greenup County Kentucky I have not seen the actual record for this birth but it is my understanding that it does exist. James Nolen - born July 16, 1853 Greenup Co. Ky. Parents: Moses Nolen and Sarah Stumbo (Stumbough) Does anyone know who Moses Nolen might belong to? Carter County Kentucky I have not seen the actual record for this marriage - I hope it does exist. Moses Nolen married Artemisy Welch on August 15, 1859. Artemisy Welch Nolen is listed on the 1860 Carter Co. census but there is no Moses with her. She is also on the Carter Co. Tax list in 1860 and 1862. Might this Moses Nolen be the same Moses Nolen that was married to Sarah Stumbo in Greenup Co. Ky.? Lawrence County Kentucky Jackson Oxier (Auxier) married Nancy Nolin on June 24, 1841 Does anyone know who Nancy Nolin might belong to? This family is listed on the 1850 Lawrence Co. Ky. census. Jackson Auxier 32 born in Ky. Nancy Auxier 31 born in Ky. Elsy Auxier (M) 14 born in Ky. John Auxier 7 born in Ky. James Rose 14 born in Ky. Carter County Kentucky Cemetery Records James Richard Nolen born March 10, 1833 died 1887 buried in the Nolen cemetery. Does anyone know who his parents were? Union Army - 14th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry - Organized in October of 1861 at Louisa in Lawrence County, Kentucky. Men from Lawrence, Johnson, Floyd, and Pike Counties. Company B Richard Nolen Company F James Minnix Lewis Minnix William Minnix Company H James R. Noland Leonard Noland James M. Thornbury Levi Thornbury Walter Thornbury Company I Noah Minix Charles W. Minix Anyone out there researching any of these lines? All of these families at one time or another have married into a Nolen/Noland family - trying to get some of them connected. This is conjecture on my part but I believe that these Nolens are grandsons of William Noland and Mary Ann Cockrell of Fairfield South Carolina who moved into Russell County Virginia around 1796-1797 and then into Floyd County Kentucky around 1815 or thereabouts. Any help, suggestions, ideas, or divine inspiration from on high will be most welcomed. At this point in time I'll take anything I can get - and I have more unconnected Nolands waiting in the wings when I get these lined out. Shirley J. Reynolds Liberty County Texas
