Dear list members, I think I just figured out why a death record could not be found for my great grandmother. I just did a search on rootsweb and found an Ollie Broughton, female, age 71, place of death Carter, death date 12 Feb. 1954, Vol# 018, Certificate# 08542, Death Volume 1954. Eventhough my grandmother was called Allie (Allifair) everything else seems to fit here especially this actual date and place of death! Does anyone know how I could go about "sneaking a peek" at this record before ordering? I just can't afford to buy the wrong records. Also maybe I found a death record for her husband, Richard Smith, only his place of death was Knott, date 8 June 1924, vol# 015, Certificate# 07120, Death Vol# 1925. Is Knott located near Carter? Any suggestions appreciated. Peggy
