Hello Sharon, you might locate the county officials for 1915 and find John M. Waugh on that list serving at least in Carter County. He may have been County Attorney or Circuit Court Judge or both. Hello, I am late to come to this discussion, if you are searching for the Waugh line in Carter County. John M. Waugh was a either the County Attorney and/or circuit judge in 1915. He served in a case I am working on. Beverly, I look forward to hearing from you! About Wolford's book: I don't know. I've only seen the book one time, for a very short while. I would love a copy. They are out of print, but I'm keeping my eyes open for a copy. Frankie
Yes, Elwood was my father. I think we have both added items to the Pennington, Webb, Thompson, Sturgill website care of Eleanor. What a great site. She does a wonderful job. Can't wait for may next trip up north. Maybe I can meet some of the people I email. Are the Wright family in George Wolford's book, the Pictorial History of Carter County? Also, on census records, Craig is spelled incorrectly a lot. I have been working my mothers side of the family lately, so I kinda pushed the Craig's to the back burner. But I will get it back to the front shortly. Do you know anything about them that might connect? My husband's Perry family descends from the JOHN D. PERRY family that came to the area of KY that became Morgan County before 1800, through his son Thomas D. Perry and wife Martha Wells. John D. had a brother who settled in the Fleming/ Carter Co. area: DANIEL PERRY JR (1785-after 1840) and wife Mary HENDERSON. Two sisters married and came to the same general area: ELIZABETH PERRY who married SAMUEL HARRISON HAMM; ELEANOR PERRY who married ROBERT NICKELL. DANIEL PERRY JR. and Mary HENDERSON were married 1804 in Fleming County, KY. Their children included two sons: MILTON PERRY (1807-1847), ROBERT HENDERSON PERRY (1811-1892)

This is my line. Lonnie Oscar Craig is my grandfather. I will get my file out and see what I have. Give me a day or two. William Henry Craig is the son of David Craig and Ann Powers. Some of Lonnie Oscar Craig siblings per my failing memory are Algie Russell, Bessie May, Lloyd Emerson, Thomas Jarrett, and others. Martha Lee Justice Craig is the daughter of James Justice and Mary Pennington Justice. Children of Lonnie and Martha: Carl, Elwood, Viola, Harold, and Donald. Donald still lives in Kentucky Harold lives in Bloomfield Ohio. the other three have passed. I'm not sure why Ken was questioned about his suggestion or his right to participate in this group. My husband and I kept shaking our heads over this one last night. Bizarre! Ken - I thought this was a great suggestion, especially if everyone is careful not to let the papers get strewn all over the cemeteries (thus your stone suggestion). Like many Carter County researchers, I'm also looking for relatives in Pike Co, Illinois! Blackburns, anyone? I haven't been doing much research lately with a toddler that's getting into everything and has figured out how to move chairs around the house in order to better reach those things she shouldn't have! :) I hope to get back into the swing of things soon.
