If you stop at the office, they are very nice and will let you check their records for the cemeteries, where each grave was moved, etc. Gerri Everman Anderson gander@scia.net 900 Jenifer St. Wildwood, Fl. 34785-5509 -----Original Message----- From: Carolyn Carroll <karocar@innova.net> To: KYCARTER-L@rootsweb.com <KYCARTER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, October 18, 1999 9:49 AM Subject: [KYCARTER] Cemetery lists >As far as the lists go, someone should not that old cemeteries around the area of I-64 are gone, to make room for the building of the interstate. 3. Put me in for it, John! It sounds like a great idea. The burner would also be a great way to distribute other items as well, like GEDs or photos or resource lists. 74mbs can go a long way. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ken Reeder <kreeder@ixlmemphis.com> To: <KYCARTER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 18, 1999 2:49 AM Subject: [KYCARTER] Carter Co cemeteries > I'd go for buying a disk, as long as the information is also > on the website for those who don't need or want the disk. > > Tech question: Do you use your CD-writer to back up your data? > If you do, are you satisfied with it? > ------ > John Rucker wrote: > > Howdy all. 3. John, Your CD idea is excellent and I hope you go forward with it. Currently I access the net via "webtv", meaning that I don't have a computer, thus only one reason why I seek a "Printed" version of a complete Carter Co., Cemetery listing. 3. Another thing to remember is that many small cemeteries were moved due to the impoundment of Grayson Reservoir. Most of these ended up in East Carter Memory Gardens. I'm not sure if any cemeteries were moved for Smokey Lake or not. I have heard that the Corps of Engineers did a very extensive survey of that general area when they were looking at impounding part of Tygart Creek - I believe they did the same for the Grayson Reservoir area.
