    2. Hi, I have been searching for my great grandfather John Wesley Cooper for sometime now, I (Like all the rest of us) have hit brick wall after brick wall. Any help with this family will be Greatly appreciated. This is what I have. John Wesley Cooper born about 1850 in Letcher County, KY Listed as living with the Day family of Letcher County, in the 1860 Census of Letcher County. (11 yrs old) Married Mary Jane Watkins on December 24, 1868, in Floyd County, KY Children: William Cooper on August 20, 1895, in Greenup County, Ky. Other Known children are Tom (Thomas), and Moses. They were also born in Greenup County. William and Tom spent there whole lives there. Moses moved to Boyne City Michigan. Possible childrens names: Ellie, Margeret. Rebecca. Other families that were married into this family include: Penix, Blevins, Watkins There is also a story of an ancestor being Hung for stealing a Horse. Cherokee and Blackfoot linage is also mentioned. There is also a family story that Combs or Coombs family played a major role in this John Wesley Cooper's family. Saylers had been insulted by another party and Pelphry was trying to quiet him. 5/29/1884 Ashland Independent Johnson County - (Barnetts Creek) died on the 22nd, Mrs Mala, wife of Thomas Saylers, at age 39 years, 3 months and 4 days.
