Hello: I am looking for information on William H. Ball (b. about 1842) and his wife Lucy J. Wise b. about April 1847. On the 1880 census they were in Carroll Co., KY. The Madison Courier, Madison Indiana, ran an article dated Nov 8, 1873 about a Thomas Wise, b. in Md. 1793. It is 5 pages long, and you may be able to find it on the Jefferson County site. It doesn't give names of children, but it is a really interesting narrative talking about Williamson Dunn, a relative, which may be why I copied it. It says the family was offered some land by someone in Trimble Co.after the father of the Wise family died and they moved to Corn Creek, three miles south of Milton on the Bedford Road. The family took charge of a mill there, located near the present Corn Creek Baptist Meeting House. Tommy is the only child of this family who is mentioned. I have a Robert Wise somewhere in my tree, possibly married to one of my Dunns, but have to look to see for sure which. Hannah Dunn, b. 20 May 1808 m. Henry Wise, Robert Dunn, b. 1813, m. Mary "Polly" Wise in 1842. Could be Lucy is the daughter of Hanna and Henry cause there is a Louisa born about 1848-9-could be her and the date is just off a bit or she could be their g daughter. The names listed in the 1850 census give Henry as 56, Hanna 41, Ina 32, Wm. W. 30, Henry m. 28, George W. 26, Lucinda 23, Serena 17, elizabeth 7, Phoebe 5,Julia S. as 3 and Louisa as 1. William Wooley also appears to be living with them.
