hello to everyone. I would like to introduce my family heritage and the reason for subscribing to this message board. I have been researching my family and it has taken me to Carrollton Ky. Nicholas (Nicolaui) Lafontaine is my 2nd great- grandfather - he was born about 1858 in Ohio and lived in Carrollton Ky and in Cincinnati Oh.   He died May 6 1904 and is buried in St. John's Cemetery along with his wife Catherine Mueller- she was born June 20 1849 in Dover Ky and died Dec 4 1936 in Norwood Ohio.  I have found 7 children and 6 I have  birth and death dates  and their spouses but one eludes me - Phillipum (Phillip) Lafontaine.  I show a birth of Sept 15 1891 but cannot find anything else.   Phillips siblings are Clara Margaretha 1883 - 1884;  Mary (Maria) Louise 1884 - 1996 (my grandmother) ;  Julia Florian (Flora) 1886 -1971; John August 1887 - 1965; Caroline M 1889 - 1973;  William Nicholas 1891-1972    If anyone has information on this family and have dates for Phillip, I would appreciate the information.   If this is your line of family and you need some information, I may be able to help also. Phillip couldn't be born in Sept 15 1891 and be a sibling of a William N who was born Aug 15, 1891 according to the ssdi. I am not looking for LaFontaine ancestors, but thought I would chime in and hope that someone is looking for HUNT ancestors. I joined this message board with the hopes that someone would be able to help me out. I don't live in KY so other help is always appreciated. Here's where I am stuck: I am looking for obituaries on two ancestors: Charles Hunt, who died 16 NOV 1904 in Jefferson, KY, and his mother Eliza Jane Hunt , who died in 1909 in Carroll, KY. I have involved the Louisville Public Library and the Louisville Genealogical Society after exhausting efforts to locate these obituaries, They were unable to help. Does anyone know if the Carroll County Public Library would have any records that would be useful? Sandy, good luck on your LaFontaine research.
