Hi Betty, If you find those newspapers, please let me know. I am searching for mid to late 1880's Carroll County newspapers. I hope to find news of Howards or Barretts. Thanks, Ronda Howard -----Original Message----- From: kycarrol-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:kycarrol-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Elizabeth (Betty) A. The local library told me that theirs were ruined in the flood of '37. Would any other archive have copies or microfilm? Would any nearby county, not on the river, have them? BTW, this year, we have traced her Hicks ancestry back to the Prestons and Breckenridge who founded Louisville, to 3 founders of Jamestowne Colony, and to Christopher Branch in Colonial VA., a member of the VA. legislature, who is descended from ten signers of the Magna Charta! WOW! Glad to see that you are still into Carroll Co. genealogy. E.
