Does anyone know the circumstances of the murder of Dr. F. V. Yancey in Lockport, Ky, June 24, 1903? Lockport is across the Kentucky River from Owen County, Kentucky. If anyone is interested in Yanceys in Owen County, Kentucky I have uploaded several photographs of some Yancey graves there, where anyone can capture them and do whatever they want to do with them. To get them, go to: http://y42.photos.yahoo.com/bc/wmadavis/lst?.dir=/My+Photo+Album&.view=t and click on "Show All" or "Next" to get to the second group of photos, they are the last ones. I have labeled the ones I know about: William Yancey, son of Philip Yancey and Virginia Holliday and his wife Elizabeth Davis, their son Absolom Adams Yancey and his son, Dr. F. V. Yancey, "murdered" the stone says, in 1903. A newspaper chronology for that year says he was killed in Lockport. I am a descendant of Elizabeth Davis Yancey's parents Benjamin Robinson Davis and Franky Adams. Franky was the daughter of Capt. Absolem Adams of Fayette County, Ky. I have some Yancey genealogy in my online genealogy which you can access from my signature line below. I would like more information on Yanceys descended from this line.
