Seeking information about Marica ALEXANDER, who was 42 years old, perhaps a spinster, when she became the last wife of Rev. John Scott of Owen and Carroll Counties, Kentucky. Scott was married to her in Owen County by Rev. Lewis D. Alexander, and I wonder what connection he might have had to Marcia Alexander. Scott had been the long-time minister of New Liberty Baptist Church in Owen County but in the 1830's had moved into Carroll County. He was a surveyor and a large landowner, and had previously been married to Jane Sneed and Mary Bailey Whitehead Waller. There was some controversy about his second marriage, because she had been deserted and was divorced from a Samuel H. Waller. Scott died a few years after the marriage, and in the 1850 census Marcia is living with some of his children, and with a teen named FLAGG or FAGG, and a couple of children named EVANS. In 1853 she married Burdette A. BLANTON, who had previously been married to Polly Daniel, and after that I don't know what became of her or her husband -- whether they died or moved away.
