I'm searching for the surnames ALCORN, BRIERLY, BROWNING, BURGESS, CURLIN, DARBRO, FLOYD, HAGGARD, WHEELER, WILLIS. Most from Carroll or Henry Co, Ky.
Maybe instead of family reunions we should have a Carroll County reunion and compare notes on where our ancestors came from and when they came to Carroll. Seems like a lot of them came to Carroll from Va and settled there before 1800. Did they come by wagon? By boat down the Ohio? Did they come in large groups? religious groups? Did they all go to Henry County? Would that mean they came by wagons? or did they all go to Trimble which might mean they came by boat? Did they all fight in the rev. war and get land grants? If so, where are all those records? Did they all go to the same church? In my research I find the same names coming up over and over-are they related and do their names show up in someone's bible? Or old newspapers? I had my mom's old scrapbook on the net for a while--did anyone find anyone in there? It was 1930-40 news and had lots of names. Her family came to Henry-Trimble-Carroll in the late 1700's and were still there in the 1940s. She must have been related to half the people there albeit distantly. Roslyn
