Some of you folks have made a mistake on the Casey Co., Ky. Daniel Coleman & the Henry Co., Ky. Daniel Coleman. You MIGHT want to change your Coleman file and correct your books that have been published. Daniel Coleman of Casey Co., Ky. Father: Samuel Coleman. I haven't proven it yet, but Sam was married 3 times. Mother: Millie Coffey born: 1794 in Va. or possibly in Lincoln Co., Ky., now Casey Co. death: abt. April 1, 1853 in Casey Co., Ky. married: Polly Durham Dec. 24, 1822 in Casey Co. Polly born: 1800 Polly's death: Shortly after the August 1850 census was taken. Daniel & Polly had 8 children Daniel & Polly were first cousins Both are buried on Knob Lick Creek Casey Co., Ky. A barn has been built over their grave along with 14 other people's graves. The Gab Wall, that settled the Daniel Coleman estate is buried there , he still has a stone, which is a miracle. If I'm not mistaken, I don't think I'm wrong, Daniel's cabin is still standing there on the creek. This cabin may have been his fathers before he and most of his family moved to Todd Co., Ky. Daniel Coleman of Henry Co., Ky. Father: Stephen Coleman Mother: Mary Ann Foree born: July 26, 1794 Prince Edward Co., Va. death: June 10, 1853 Married: Mary Jeffries 1818 in Shelby Co., Ky. 6 miles from his farm. Mary Jeffries born Dec. 24, 1796 Shelby Co., Ky. death:June 14, 1850 Henry Co., Ky. Daniel & Mary had no children, but Daniel's second wife gave him a son James Daniel, James was born 1851 in Henry Co., Ky. Both are buried next to their home, 2 miles off any road, at route 421 & Beasley Lane. Their house was lived in till 1940 when it burned. The foundation is still in tact & the well has water in it also. I got pictures of the stones and area, it is beautiful place for a home. Daniel & Mary loved 16 miles from Stephen & Mary Coleman, Daniel's parents. Stephen & Mary's house is still lived in as of this date. My brothers & 2 cousins rebuilt the Stephen Coleman cemetery last summer. Daniel lived 10 miles from his cousin, William Lawson Coleman. The William Lawson Coleman house & cemetery is one of the most beautiful places one could visit. The spindle that William L. was hung on during the Civil War by Union troops, was finally replaced last summer. My brothers, Earl "Dickie" Coleman, Harvey Dennis Coleman, and I have spent two and a half years, 50,000 miles plus, over 2000 dollars, and a lot of time, on the research on the two Daniel Coleman's and that is our findings. You folks can do what ever with your Coleman History File, that is our conclusion.
