I originally responded to a query about the location of the cemetery that the cemetery was thought to be destroyed, but with further inquiries it turned out the cemetery is still there, on Lot 10 of a new subdivision that going there. I never meant to imply that the cemetery was endangered -- no more than any other farm cemetery, anyway. There is already a house built and occupied on Lot 10 -- the lot where the Barrett Cemetery is. The person who originally inquired about the cemetery has been offered the opportunity to visit it by the real estate agents. There was quite a fuss and legal wranglings here about seven years ago when someone bulldozed a Hanks cemetery on Dividing Ridge Road, it got a lot of attention and I don't think anyone wants to repeat the process.
