Hi Roslyn, Why do you suggest looking in Indiana? I'm intrigued. I'm looking for my husband's grandfather who was supposed to be born in "Carrollton" Kentucky in 1885. Some census has his father born in Kentucky and some in Indiana. Thanks, Ronda -----Original Message----- From: kycarrol-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:kycarrol-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Roslyn McLendon Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 2007 4:27 PM To: kycarrol@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYCARROL] Edmund Martin - Father of Alice b. abt 1859 be sure and check in Madison, IN>, too. Edmund and "Delilah" appear in the 1850 Gallatin County Census. Will send you a copy. I am hoping to connect with someone that is familiar with the Edmund Martin family of Carroll Co. His daughter's (Alice) death certificate states her father was Edmund Martin and Delottie Mitchell. I was at the Carroll Co. library yesterday, but could not locate anything on Edmund or Delottie. Hoping this email might catch someone's attention. Hello and Happy Holidays! I am hoping to find someone familiar with the family of John C. Martin b. abt Aug 1860 and died between 1930-1939. His father was Moses Martin. He married Alice Martin on 24 July 1879 in Carroll Co. I have Alice's Death Certificate that states her parents were Ed Martin and Delottie Mitchell. Both born in Carroll Co. The informant was Ed Robins. Alice is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Carrollton, but I can't locate her on the cemetery listings. The death certificate also states she was a widow. I can't locate her as a child on any census records. She was supposedly born on June 7, 1859 in Carroll Co., KY. Can anyone help me with this family? Thanks!
