    3. " am currently attempting to find the location of St. Francis cemetery in Dayton, KY. The information I had when I went on my hour long driving search, was that it was located "on a hill" behind the where the old church was located, which was on (or I suppose, near) Rt. 8. Not finding much, I widened my search to the whole city of Dayton, and the surrounding areas. No luck." From Campbell Co Historical Society, their list of cemeteries, it says on the hill above the railroad tracks. If you were looking at Benham, it should have been 6th Ave instead of 3rd. It is a short street on the up side of the rail road tracks. Did you check with a local mortuary? They probably would know. The 1874 atlas maps probably has it on it. I have several new ones and no cemetery at that spot. I don't have that section of Campbell Co from that atlas. Sorry. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gAB.2ACI/2068 Message Board Post: Greetings, I am currently attempting to find the location of St. No luck. Searching online led me to a site which noted that the old church was at "Third and Benham." Using Google maps/satellite to look at that site, there is nothing that appears to be a cemetery, or any hill. Looks like an industrial park (which I remember driving through). With more searching online, I found information online which noted that the cemetery was on a hill "a quarter mill from town." Not knowing where the old town boundaries were, I drove and attempted to search a wide area, and came up with nothing. If anyone knows where this place is (and I'm sure many of you do!) I'd really like someone to tell me! Here are a few of the online sources I have for the place's location... http://www.rootsweb.com/~kycampbe/stfrancisMcemetery.htm http://nkyviews.com/campbell/text/dayton_text_stfrances.htm http://nkyviews.com/campbell/text/newport_text_ryan_stbernard.htm ==== KYCAMPBE Mailing List ==== You can always contact your list admin privately at <KYCAMPBE-admin@Rootsweb.com>. ============================== Census images 1901, 1891, 1881 and 1871, plus so much more.
