    1. Re: [KYCAMPBE] Jones Marriages in 1830's
    2. Hi there, Yes, I have requested the marriages of Campbell County for the dates of 1815-abt 1833 or so. Yes.....sometimes the minister of the gospel and/or the local placename was listed. These are available throught your local Morman center. You do not need to be a member to use their research libraries. Most towns and cities in America have at least one. You can order the microfilm for campbell Co. (and the years) from their microfish catelogue. I think they cost $3.00 each and come fairly quickly. They hold them for a number of weeks and then get sent back. It is fun to see the originals. I did find a chunk of about 8 months missing from the early 1830's. Don't know what happened to them, but the ministers had tried to fill in the gaps by going back in the records and making some substitution submissions. (flood damage? fire? stolen?). I wanted to verify a Campbell County marriage for FRANCIS THOMPSON to CON BEAGLE (found in a Bible entry with other THOMPSON entries). It was for December 20, 1821. It was not there and the entries for about 7 months were completely missing. However, for the time period before and after, they are there. Since the other marriages in the Bible are accurage, I am going to assume that this one is as well. Also......you can get CDRom 229 Southern Marriages at many libraries and Genealogy societies (our local chapter has it, so does our Seattle Public library). They have all of the marriages from 1789-1850 on that disc. It has the information, just not the scanned entry in the original. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Karen Beagle
