    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Thomson Seeds Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gAB.2ACI/1962 Message Board Post: My ancestor James Young Thomson, born Ireland c. 1815, was living in Newport, Campbell County when he disappeared from the foundry where he worked, at some time during 1863 to 1865. While living in Newport he and his wife Ann Seeds Thomson lost an infant son, Willie (William?). Their daughter Anna remained in Kentucky after the others had gone to Iowa in 1865, and died in 1872. Questions: do the Newport city directories for this period show any foundries/ironworks, or might have James "commuted" to Cincinnati? Can anyone do a birth lookup for Willie/William Thomson or death lookup for Willie or Anna? Might there have been some kind of court "missing presumed dead" proceeding for James appearing of record after a certain period of time? Thanks in advance for your attention and any help you can give.
