Hi, Carolyn; No, I'm not related to the Sanftelben family (that I know of), but both my husband and I were born and raised in the greater Cincinnati area, with relatives and ancestors all over the tri-state area, so I've been into a lot of resources in the past 40 years or so. Because it is such a rare name, it's not difficult to find (when it's there) in any of the lists, etc. that I have. Will let you know if anything else shows up. So far, I have found it spelled exactly the way you listed it. Any misspellings, transcription errors, etc. must be so far off they are not even close in the alphabetical lists. By the way, I was thinking perhaps the name may at one point have been something like "SANCT LEBEN", which would translate to "holy life" or some similar wording. Have you located anything on the name in Germany? Best wishes, Ann
